Merging Rows

There are 3 dif­fer­ent ways to play instances across mul­ti­ple rows by chang­ing the make movie method in the time­line. By default, Merge rows is select­ed. To change, click on the Settings icon at the right of the Timeline tool­bar.

Merge Rows

Merge row cre­ates instance movies in chrono­log­i­cal order of the time­line. When mul­ti­ple instances are select­ed in dif­fer­ent rows, the merge rows fea­ture will merge the instances and cre­ate chap­ter mark­ers where instances overlap.

  1. Hold down COMMAND to select mul­ti­ple rows. Select the row of instances by click­ing on the row number.
  2. Click on the Make movie but­ton on the time­line tool bar. The instances will play in chrono­log­i­cal order, alter­na­tive­ly use the short­cut, OPTION+COMMAND+M.

Sequential Rows

Sequential rows cre­ates instance movies in row order of the time­line for all select­ed instances. When mul­ti­ple instances are select­ed in dif­fer­ent rows, the sequen­tial rows fea­ture will start from the low­est row num­ber and pro­ceed to the high­est row num­ber. All instances in each row will be played in chrono­log­i­cal order.

  1. Organize the time­line rows by drag­ging on the row number.
  2. Select the Sequential rows fea­ture in the time­line.
  3. Hold down the COMMAND key and click on the row num­ber to select mul­ti­ple rows.
  4. Click on the Make movie but­ton on the time­line tool bar. The instances will play accord­ing to their row order.

Selection Order

Selection order cre­ates instance movies in the order that instances are select­ed in the timeline.

  1. Select the Selection order fea­ture in the time­line.
  2. Hold down the COMMAND key and click on the instances in the order you want them to play in the instance movie. As each instance is select­ed, it is labeled with a num­ber [1], [2], [3]…
  3. Click on the Make movie but­ton on the time­line tool bar. The instances will play accord­ing to their select­ed order.
