Explore for College & Pro Teams

Explore is a new tab inside Hudl's platform that allows users to search teams, athletes, and competitions across the entire Hudl database with statistics directly linked to video— all on one page.

Previously, coaches using Volleymetrics had to open multiple game tabs simultaneously and filter each one separately to do basic tasks like scouting, recruiting, or reviewing with athletes. The Explore tab replaces that workflow: coaches can search an athlete or team, open multiple games at once, and click any stat to instantly pull up filtered clips.

How to Access Explore

1. Go to hudl.com and log in with existing Volleymetrics credentials.
2. Click the Explore tab

Stats and video are now linked. Click any linked stat in the Explore tab to view the video clips associated with that stat. 

1. Log in to Hudl and click the Explore tab.
2. Use the search bar and filters to search for an athlete, team, competition or match.
3. Select a stat from any of the recently played games to view those clips.

Use reports to view detailed stats and filter video by specific play types or stats.

1. Log in to Hudl and click the Explore tab.
2. Use the search bar and filters to search for an athlete, team, competition or match.
3. Select the game or games you’d like to view reports for.
4. Click View Reports and select the report to view.
   1. For multiple games, you can also click Play and then navigate to the Reports tab to select a report to view.

The reports available are:

• Team Stats
• Athlete Stats
• Attack Tendencies
• Rotations
• Setter Tendencies
• Trends

Save clips from the Explore tab to create playlists that can be shared with the team for review. 

Save Clips

1. Log in to Hudl and click the Explore tab.
2. Use the search bar and filters to search for an athlete, team, competition or match.
3. Select the game(s) you want to create clips for.
4. Click Play to view the game.
5. Click + Create Clip and a 10 second clip will be saved to the Saved tab.

Add Clips to Playlist

Once you’ve saved clips, you’ll want to add them to a playlist.

1. When viewing a video, navigate to the Saved tab.
2. Select the clip(s) you'd like to add to a playlist.
3. Click the share icon to add multiple clips to a playlist or click the share icon next to each clip to add them individually to a playlist.
4. Select an existing playlist or click Create Playlist to add the clips to a new playlist.

Share video, practices or playlists with staff and athletes via Hudl. 

1. Log in to Hudl and click the Library tab.
2. Click the three dots > Share for the game, practice or playlist you want to share.
3. Select who you want to share the content with from the drop-down.
4. Set the permissions: Viewer, Editor, Manager.
5. Click Share.

When a practice is sent from Volleymetrics to Hudl, the AI breakdown will automatically start.

Send a Practice to Hudl

1. Log in to Volleymetrics and select the practice you’d like to send to Hudl.
2. Click the Send to Hudl button.
3. Select where you want to send the video and click Send to Hudl in the pop-up.
