Our friends at Grow the Game sat down with student managers and graduate assistants from across collegiate basketball to dive deeper into what goes on behind the scenes. In this episode, CEO Jake Cerota talks with James Pollard of UNI to share about his growth over his time on staff at one of college basketball’s premier mid-major programs.

Student Managers are the engine, the key cog that ensure collegiate basketball programs run. They work diligently behind the scenes, largely unnoticed yet undeniably vital to the team's success. Their list of tasks are often wide ranging, but give them a wealth of knowledge to prepare them for their next step towards a career in college basketball. Part of Grow the Game’s curriculum includes access to learning Hudl products like Sportscode, which has been essential to advancing to the next level.

Through our partnership with Grow the Game, a 501c3 non-profit whose aim is to provide deeper access to mentorship and training to the games young professionals, we wanted to find out more about what goes on behind-the-scenes for this indispensable role.

In the first episode of the Grow the Game Vodcast, CEO Jake Cerota sits down with James Pollard of the University of Northern Iowa to talk about his time as one of their leading student managers as the Panthers begin the 2023-24 season.
