U16 and U18 AAA Teams can use Hudl platform to show skills to scouts despite limited in-person availability.

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association and Hudl are excited to announce a long-term partnership, kicking off with our U16 and U18 AAA Virtual Showcase, which give players the opportunity to showcase their skills to Ontario Hockey League teams before the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

During the remaining weeks of the season, teams will have the opportunity to film and upload their skill sessions to Hudl for OHL scouts to evaluate. The OMHA, with the support of OHL, has designed position-specific skill sessions that teams can use to showcase their players and goalies in a consistent format. These sessions include both team and individual exercises in small area games, half-ice and full-ice setups.

Once recorded, teams can upload the footage to the Hudl platform where scouts will have access to the videos.

“This partnership with Hudl gives our players exposure during a season that has limited their opportunities to be scouted,” said Ian Taylor, OMHA Executive Director. "Hudl gives scouts increased access to our players during practice and game environments."

“We are excited to partner with the OMHA to bring this opportunity for their U16 and U18 AAA players during this draft year,” said Greg Nelson, VP & General Manager at Hudl.  “We know Hudl will help scouts and evaluators to look at players in a way they may not have had the opportunity to this season.”

Hudl is the hub for video highlights and recruiting reel for athletes to showcase their talent and chase their dreams. More than 180,000 teams around the world use Hudl to elevate their performance with video and analytics.

The Virtual Showcase follows all of the current safety guidelines in place while still providing visibility of players.

“This initiative by the OMHA provides our teams with an opportunity to evaluate players during an unprecedented season,” said Kyle Pereira, Director of Player Recruitment in the OHL. “We are excited with the accessibility that the Virtual Showcase and online platform will provide all of our teams, and in so doing, adhering to safety protocols and augmenting the traditional in-arena scouting requirement.”
