Hudl’s WIMU PRO EVO device for athlete monitoring has earned the quality certification from FIFA in the Electronic Performance and Tracking Systems category
LINCOLN, NEB. 28 MARCH 2025 - Hudl, the world’s leading provider of cloud-based technology connecting video and data for the sports industry, announces its WIMU PRO EVO athlete tracking device has earned the FIFA Quality Mark for electronic performance and tracking systems (EPTS).

WIMU PRO EVO was subjected to FIFA’s stringent testing protocols to meet the highest standards of quality and performance, including rating across various velocity bands. FIFA’s Quality Programme is built on rigorous scientific research, drawing from multiple disciplines to evaluate factors such as player needs, safety, durability, and data accuracy. This initiative is supported by a global network of universities, sports organizations, and standardization bodies dedicated to maintaining excellence in sports technology.
WIMU PRO EVO is the leading product in Hudl’s athlete monitoring system, which combines wearable trackers, with integrated software, providing a full ecosystem of athlete monitoring to help ensure athletes are fit, healthy and available to play. The WIMU devices generate up to 20k data points per second across 250+ variables - for every athlete. This data can be visualized in real-time, and leveraged to objectively manage the fatigue levels of athletes throughout the season.

ABOUT THE FIFA QUALITY PROGRAMME:
The FIFA Quality Programme for EPTS devices was initially launched for wearable tracking systems in 2017 with the aim of ensuring that such devices do not pose a danger to the players.
The test criteria were developed following medical and mechanical research and a test protocol reflecting possible injury scenarios that should be avoided. In 2019, the FIFA Quality Programme for EPTS was extended beyond safety tests to include performance tests for both optical and wearable devices, giving systems the chance to receive the ‘FIFA Quality’ mark. This introduction was made in an effort to provide the end user with more information about the system they are using or intending to use. Providers that have been tested are listed on FIFA’s website with a publicly available test report which describes, using a ranking system, the accuracy of the system’s positioning and velocity data in different velocity brackets. As of 2023, following approval from the IFAB, lower-limb wearable systems that have successfully gone through additional validation of the FIFA Innovation Programme can also be approved under the FIFA Quality Programme for EPTS.
