Hudl and Nairobi International Cup Bring Worldwide Visibility to Young Talent in Kenya

2 min Read

Hudl will be reaffirming its commitment to giving every athlete the shot they deserve by providing technological support at the Nairobi International Cup, one of the biggest grassroots football tournaments in Africa.

The annual competition is held in Kenya’s capital each August and brings over 300 youth teams together. Featuring age groups ranging from U7 to U20 level, the NaiCup provides a platform that showcases the young male and female footballing talent in the region, while also promoting social and cultural integration.

Hudl will be supplying the tournament with Hudl Focus Flex cameras to record and livestream the games, ensuring that fans, families, and coaches don’t miss a moment of the action.

High quality footage automatically captured by Focus Flex’s AI-powered portable cameras will then be made available for professional purposes on Hudl Wyscout - the world’s largest football video library.

As a result, this will give young prospects global visibility and boost their chances of being scouted, while also providing the opportunity to enhance player development by analyzing the youth content available on the platform.

Greater visibility and development is also at the heart of the Nairobi International Cup’s vision:

  • To place Kenya, East Africa, and the African continent on the global map as a prime destination for youth sports tournaments.

  • To make the tournament a premium platform for connecting, uniting, and inspiring children and young people to believe in the power of their dreams.

  • To bring communities closer to the game and open their eyes to the transformative power of sports in empowering, developing, and improving cohesion across the region.

“It’s an honor to support the growth of African football and help bring global visibility to the continent’s next generation of stars,” said Hudl’s Federica de Peron.

“The Nairobi International Cup has lofty ambitions to become one of Africa’s premier youth football showcases and by capturing every moment using Hudl Focus Flex cameras and sharing footage on Wyscout it will give young talent a unique opportunity to be seen by clubs and scouts worldwide.”

“Powered by Hudl technology, the NaiCup 2025 promises to be a vibrant, game-changing event that will leave a mark - not only in East Africa but across the whole continent,” said Akumu Kevin, founder and CEO of the Nairobi International Cup. “A visibility like no other will be afforded to the players, getting them closer to international scouts, wherever they may be.”
