With Many Sports Paused, Women Coaches and Leaders Will Come Together Digitally for the Second Annual BreakThrough Summit

Hudl and WeCOACH are partnering again to host the second annual BreakThrough Summit, December 14–15, 2020. Women in sports face unique challenges, including pay inequality, gender stereotyping, objectification and lack of representation and visibility. Hudl and WeCOACH are committed to improving that landscape.

BreakThrough Summit is a free, digital leadership event that will bring together top women coaches, administrators and sports industry influencers to share their experiences and empower others to break through gender and social barriers. This year’s event will be bigger, better and bolder with a two-day online event featuring more topics, more speakers, more sports and more action-oriented dialogues. It will celebrate, develop and inspire women in sports across all levels.

“We're committed to helping develop great coaches and leaders because we know these are the people inspiring athletes to realize the best versions of themselves,” said David Graff, Hudl CEO. “We're constantly focused on increasing diversity within our own doors and in the sports landscape. Partnering with an important organization like WeCOACH to deliver the annual BreakThrough Summit is a pillar initiative for increasing the opportunities for women in sports.

“During a global pandemic where sports are paused, I believe the role of the coach and team is more important than ever for keeping young athletes engaged while they deal with the mental stress and anxiety of the times. BreakThrough Summit is another chance for women coaches to stay energized knowing the impact and responsibility they have for their athletes.”

This year’s event will be headlined by two-time national champion women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw, and returning as emcee, ESPN basketball analyst LaChina Robinson. Session topics will include navigating COVID-19, social change, mental health, leadership, diversity and inclusion, and supporting women in sports.

“Our synergistic partnership with Hudl and alignment in values is something incredibly special. In year two of BreakThrough Summit, we recognized a need and collectively came together to provide a platform for more intentional dialogue on critical topics, such as mental health and social change,” said Megan Kahn, WeCOACH CEO. “It gives our audience an unprecedented opportunity to participate in two days of learning and inspiration for free. This is a powerful testament to our mutual commitments to women in the coaching profession.”
