Sportscode Now Remembers Every Version of Your Film

2 min Read

Your playlists now live in the cloud, ensuring your staff’s film work is always done in sync.

It's the morning before practice. Your assistant coach pulls up last night's clip package and something looks off. The rows are renamed, the clips reordered. Someone must have gone back in after midnight.

That used to mean a phone call, a scramble, and hoping the right version was still somewhere on someone's machine. Not anymore.

Sportscode playlists now sync directly to your Hudl library and live there permanently. Every time your staff saves and syncs, a snapshot is created: a record of exactly what the playlist looked like at that moment, with the date and the name of the coach who made the changes.

When your staff gets to the facility in the morning, they're not hunting for a file. They're opening a playlist with a complete history behind it.

Shared by the Whole Staff

Any video coordinator or coach can open the Hudl Library directly inside Sportscode, find the playlist, and pick up where someone else left off. No browser tabs, separate logins, or emailing files back and forth. If two people work on the same playlist at the same time, Sportscode flags the conflict and lets the coach decide what to do, eliminating silent overwriting and lost work.

Every Version Is Always Recoverable

Every past version is browsable in the playlist window. Click any version and you can see exactly what's different from the version before it — what was added, edited, or removed. If something needs to go back to the way it was, restoring a past version is safe and straightforward. The restore only completes once all the footage is confirmed on your device, and the version you restored from is still saved in history. There's no point of no return.

Built on What Came Before

Earlier this year, Phase 1 of the Sportscode to Hudl playlist integration made the connection between the two tools reliable — annotations and drawings survived the roundtrip, clip metadata stayed intact, and syncing became much simpler.

Phase 2 takes that reliable connection and makes the work permanent. What your staff builds in Sportscode now belongs to the whole staff, not just whoever's machine it's saved on.
