Hudl Statsbomb Release Free Euro 2025 Data

2 min Read

As part of our continuing commitment to the next generation of aspiring analysts and data scientists, we are pleased to announce the release of free Hudl Statsbomb event and 360 data from the recently concluded UEFA Women’s Euros 2025 tournament.

This comprehensive dataset includes the same data utilised by our professional clients, averaging 3,400 events per match across all 31 games played throughout the tournament. Also incorporated into the release is our cutting-edge 360 data, which provides the precise location of every player visible within the frame for each event. The 360 frames are crucial for adding vital context and enabling a more profound and insightful analysis than is possible with event data alone.

There’s plenty of opportunity to analyse the triumphant England side who came from behind in the quarter-final, semi-final, and final to secure their second consecutive Euros title.

Other avenues of analysis include the creative play of Alexia Putellas, who generated the most assists in the tournament with four, or the final third influence of player of the tournament Aitana Bonmatí, who received the most line-breaking passes in space in the final third of any player in Euro 2025.

Accessing the data

The easiest way to work with our data is in R or Python, two programming languages ideal for performing data analysis on larger datasets. In order to support the use of our free data resources in R and Python, we’ve released two packages to simplify the process: StatsbombR and Statsbombpy. In addition, we recorded two webinars in 2024 to guide you through the process of pulling the data and working with it for the first time.

To access the Euro 2025 data, you’ll need the competition ID (53) and the season ID (315).

If you intend to publish your work online, which we greatly encourage you to do if you want your skills to be noticed by professionals, then please remember to credit Hudl Statsbomb as your data source when doing so.

As always, we hope you enjoy working with the data.

Best of luck,
The Hudl Statsbomb Team
