The AI automatically breaks down the video once it’s uploaded, identifying the vast majority of actions and players in your game footage. After the AI processes the video, your next steps will depend on your team’s subscription. At any point, the icons shown below will appear on your video in the library to let you know what’s happening.
If your team has analyst-supported breakdowns, your video will be sent to an analyst for review and to add details. Your coaches and athletes will get an email once the analyst has finished.
If you don’t have analyst-supported breakdowns, complete your video setup: open your video, click Setup in the top-right corner, and follow the guided tools shown. Each section will show Done✓ once completed.
Now your video is ready to explore, review highlights, and try out AI-Generated features.
Getting access set up correctly from the start ensures film uploads smoothly, breakdowns process accurately, and everyone can see exactly what they need—without confusion.
Understand Account Roles (Club Directors)
Before adding coaches, athletes and filmers to your account, get familiar with the permissions across each role to ensure the right level of access for everyone:
Team Admins: Manage coaches, upload and exchange video, access the library, send recruiting packages, and manage billing.
Coaches: Manage athlete access, record, livestream, upload video, and review team content.
Athletes: View video, receive coaching feedback, create highlights, and upload video (if permissions are set- see below for more details).
Uploading Access Options (Club Directors)
There are two ways filmers can get access to record and upload film. Choose the option that best fits your team workflow:
Coach and Team Admin accounts can livestream and upload directly from the Hudl app.
Athlete accounts can record to their device and upload afterward.
To enable athlete uploads, a director can log into Hudl and go to Team → Team Settings → Access
Pro Tip: ⚠️ If adding a parent/filmer as an athlete role, make sure you use an email different from any athlete account.
Add Coaches, Athletes & Filmers
To add coaches, athletes or filmers to your team's account, follow these steps:
Go to the Team tab
Select Manage Team
Click Add Member. There are three ways to add members:
Team Code - Share the unique team code with your athletes who can enter that code to request access, and coaches can approve each request.
Enter Manually - You’ll need an email address, first and last name, and jersey number.
Import Roster - If you have a spreadsheet with player information, import that directly to your account.
Coaches, Athletes & Parents: What to Expect
Look for an email invite from your coach
Accept the invite to activate your account
Pro Tip: Use the same email for Hudl that you used for club registration to avoid access issues.
Adding your tournament schedules as you receive those details to help keep everyone aligned and make it easier to organize and find video in your library throughout the year.
Use Hudl messaging to stay connected with your team in one centralized place, making it easy for parents and athletes to move between messages, videos, and updates without missing a beat.
