Hudl and FootballClub extend their partnership, putting broadcast-grade technology in the hands of 3,000+ grassroots clubs across Spain.
Changing The Way Spanish Football Is Watched and Analysed
Behind-the-scenes, Spanish football is undergoing a transformation. From historic professional clubs to the grassroots pitches where kids play every Saturday morning, the technology that once defined the elite game is now reaching every corner of the pyramid.
The force driving this transformation on pitches all across Spain are Hudl tools, and today, we announce the renewal of a multi-year alliance with FootballClub, the in-market delivery partner within Spanish football, to keep this momentum going.
Together, Hudl and FootballClub are bringing automated broadcast-grade streaming, video analysis and scouting tools to non-professional and grassroots football across Spain. Hudl’s established technology will have its local reach expanded by FootballClub, operating Spain’s Hudl-powered platforms federation by federation, community by community.
This renewed alliance confirms the model works — and signals where it goes next.
That reach now extends beyond the pitch and into the scouting room. Through Hudl Wyscout Football Youth Competitions, scouts and technical directors have exclusive access to video and data from over 190 youth competitions across more than 40 countries — including tournament coverage unavailable anywhere else in the world.
From levels U14 through to U23, more than 75,000 young players are tracked on Hudl Wyscout, giving clubs at every level the tools to identify and follow talent that would otherwise go unseen. As the grassroots game becomes more visible, the pipeline from local football to professional scouting grows shorter — and Hudl sits at both ends of it.
The Hudl Model: Elite Technology for Every Club
Our proposition is straightforward: the tools professional clubs take for granted should be available to any team, in any category. Automated, broadcast-quality cameras. Video review workflows. Data and statistics at a coaching staff's fingertips. None of it should require a broadcast crew, a technical department, or a budget only a top flight club can afford.
That is precisely what Hudl Focus delivers. A single Hudl Focus camera records a match autonomously - no operator, no crew, and that one act of capture powers an entire chain: live and on-demand streaming for fans, video analysis for coaching staff, and shareable highlights for the people who matter most, the families in the stands or watching from thousands of kilometres away.
More than 3,000 grassroots clubs across Spain are already streaming their own matches on Hudl+FootballClub technology combo, independently, without outside help. On PlayRFAF alone, weekly match broadcasts grew from around 700 per week in January 2026 to more than 2,500 by April and May, with nearly 30,000 matches streamed across the platform in the first five months of the year.
Flagship Proof: PlayRFAF, Powered by Hudl
The clearest expression of what this model makes possible is PlayRFAF, the digital ecosystem Hudl technology has built for the Real Federación Andaluza de Fútbol (RFAF).
PlayRFAF brings together live and on-demand streaming across all federated categories, official statistics drawn directly from federation match records, and interactive fan tools - all in a single, cohesive platform. It gives clubs a professional broadcast presence. It gives coaches the analytical layer they need. And it gives supporters, wherever they are in the world, a front-row seat.
PlayRFAF's registered base spans 300,000 federated members across Andalucía, between 230,000 and 250,000 of whom are active players. More than 92% of all matches streamed through the platform involve development categories: children and teenagers aged 5 to 18. The biggest single category is Alevín (ages 10–11), followed closely by Benjamín (ages 8–9).
This is, overwhelmingly, a platform built around kids' football, and by extension, the families who follow every match. A parent watching their child's debut from abroad. A grassroots coach reviewing a set-piece in the dressing room before the next training session. A local business finding a digital visibility space where none existed before.
It is also a blueprint. Hudl and FootballClub are already working to extend the PlayRFAF model to other regional federations across Spain - a replicable, scalable ecosystem that each federation can own, shaped around its local clubs, competitions and community.
José Sánchez, General Manager of FootballClub, speaks to what that means in practice:
"When we started with Hudl, we knew we wanted to break down barriers, but the response from clubs has exceeded all our expectations. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing how a grassroots football club, anywhere in the world, gains visibility and uses the same tools as the elite of the sport.
Expanding this partnership fills us with excitement because it allows us to continue advancing to more countries, more categories, and more football. We can support clubs in their growth and bring this professionalization model to more and more countries, without ever losing that close connection and passion for the game we all share."
From Las Gaunas to Saturday Football
Hudl technology has been deployed in some of Spain's most storied non-professional stadiums, including Las Gaunas in Logroño, home of CD Logroñés, and the Rico Pérez in Alicante, home of Hércules CF. While outside of the top levels, the standard of play here is high, the clubs have storied histories and supporters with expectations. These are venues and matches that deserve to be seen properly.
The real scale of change is felt further down the pyramid. When a youth team in a small Andalucían town can stream its Sunday match and have it indexed, analysed and shared before the players have left the ground, that is where the modern time-saving transformation is most visible.
The same Hudl Focus camera that serves a professional club with 10,000 season-ticket holders is the same camera a grassroots club installs on their pitch for the first time. The technology does not change.
The Alliance That Keeps Building
The renewal of this alliance is a statement of intent. Hudl and FootballClub are committed to ensuring that every club, regardless of category, budget, or geography, has access to the tools that make football more watchable, more analysable, and more connected to the people who value it.
For national and regional federations evaluating a digital ecosystem for their competitions, the PlayRFAF model offers a proven, Hudl-powered path. For clubs at every level, the message is simple: this technology is built for you. For competition and broadcast rights owners anywhere in the world, Spain is the proof that it scales.
Grassroots football has always been the heart of the game. Hudl is making sure it finally has the infrastructure to match.

About FootballClub
FootballClub is a company dedicated to the digitization and broadcasting of non-professional and youth football. Its vision is to bring the technology used by professional clubs to grassroots football, offering fans a way to interact with a level of the sport that has historically lacked visibility — the games played every weekend in towns and neighbourhoods — while creating opportunities for clubs, players, and the entire surrounding community.
Part of this journey involves features like FAN+, designed to make watching your local team's matches feel a bit like playing in them. With FAN+, any fan can create 90-second clips of plays featuring their child, grandchild, or anyone else, and instantly share them via WhatsApp. Users can also view reports based on official federation match records, analyse data just like a club's technical director, create their own player profile card, list their skills, and more.
