SOMERSET, NJ – Fans of NEC Front Row have plenty to be excited about heading into the 2019-20 season.

The Northeast Conference (NEC), in collaboration with BlueFrame Technology and longtime partner Pack Network, has announced a series of free over-the-top (OTT) streaming and mobile apps to make the Front Row viewing experience even more enjoyable for viewers.

The “NEC on the Run” apps are immediately available for download and can be found by searching “NEC on the Run” in the App Store and Google Play.

The apps are available on the following platforms: iOS mobile (iPhone/iPad), Android mobile (all Android-based mobile devices), Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku, The NEC on the Run apps provide a 1080p viewing experience, DVR controls, a mobile-first user interface, social media sharing, stored user preferences and an audio-only mode within the mobile apps that includes Bluetooth integration and background listening. The apps also include push notifications, podcasting integration and the ability to launch from a browser.

Fans can access live and archived events produced by the NEC and its member institutions with the push of a button. Content can be filtered by school, sport or date, and fans can select their favorite school within the app for even quicker access to events.

In the coming weeks, the NEC Front Row website will be given a facelift as well with a more prominent event viewer and enhanced navigation among the highlights.

“Our focus always has been to leverage the latest tech innovations in order to provide the most exposure for our events and make it simple for fans to engage with our member schools and teams,” said NEC Commissioner Noreen Morris. “Extending NEC Front Row content to potentially millions of new viewers across all the major apps using BlueFrame’s proven technology is a perfect fit to meet these goals.”

One of the first NCAA DI conferences to launch a digital network back in 2012, the NEC has attracted a loyal following for NEC Front Row’s rich set of content. Free content includes live events, on-demand video, highlight packages, coaches shows, features, original programming and access to league’s extensive digital library, all free of charge to users. The network gives fans inside access to the NEC and its student-athletes on the field, in the classroom, across campus, and in the community. By the end of year seven, approximately 5,200 live events had been broadcast on Front Row with nearly 2.4 million viewers tuning in to the network.

The NEC Front Row website features free access to high definition live events with DVR functionality, live stats integration for a number of sports and the ability to watch multiple events at once. Following the conclusion of live events, full-game broadcasts are immediately available within the NEC Front Row on-demand archive.

Broadcasts on NEC Front Row are produced, delivered, and consumed using the end-to-end digital network solution from BlueFrame.

“We are thrilled to team with the Northeast Conference and Pack Network to allow even more fans to connect with the league through our technology and apps,” said BlueFrame CEO Ben Kant. “The NEC is clearly committed to their league-wide video service, and incorporating our Production Truck software into their workflow is an end-to-end solution that will improve both the viewing experience and access to all the content the NEC is producing.”

“Fostering the convergence of great content and great technology is our sweet spot,” said Pack Network Co-Founder KJ Cardinal. “We have worked with the NEC for 14 years looking to improve their video productions and video delivery every season. Partnering with BlueFrame is an ideal progression as they share the vision of constantly looking for what’s next and how to get there.”
