The latest release of Hudl Replay includes an exciting new feature - Coach Tagging. This brand-new function allows coaches and analysts on the bench to create instances within the Replay system.

Hudl Replay enables coaches and analysts to analyze and review critical game situations and drive live in-game decision-making by sending live video and data feeds from the analyst computer to the iPad on the sideline.

Custom code windows in Hudl Sportscode provide analysts with a flexible and user-friendly way of tagging important moments. These instances can be shared with Replay for immediate pitch-side review and analysis on any iPad in your stadium, arena or training center.

The new Coach Tagging feature now also allows coaches to create instances within Replay, enabling a two-way Hudl Sportscode to Replay communication. Not only can Coach Tagging instances be used for instant pitch-side reviews on the iPad, they are also sent to the Hudl Sportscode timeline for further analysis.

Key aspects of the new Coach Tagging functionality are:

  • Support of multiple Replay devices and users to provide a variety of staff with the ability to tag important moments pitch-side.
  • In order to ensure no moments are missed, Coach Tagging instances can be created on ‘live’ as well as on previously recorded video.
  • Coach Tagging instances are shown on the iPad within the Coach Review group at the top of the screen so that they can be accessed easily and quickly.
  • A separate Coach Review row within Hudl Sportscode ensures that analysts have all Coach Tagging instances readily available for editing, analysis or any type of review workflows.
  • In order to suit your workflow and preferences it is possible to create Coach Tagging instances in full screen as well as split view.
  • Coach Tagging instances created whilst Replay is disconnected from Hudl Sportscode, during half-time reviews as an example, are automatically synced back to Hudl Sportscode once Replay is back online.

Hudl Senior Product Manager Jörg Stadelmann commented:

“Within our customer centric approach to product development, our goal is to make live analysis more efficient and flexible to enhance our users’ workflow,” said Stadelmann. “We are proud of the recent advancements in Hudl Replay; in the last few months we were not only able to lay a solid technical foundation to provide customer value in quick succession, we also shipped a variety of enhancements like Live Sharing Latency Improvements.

Coach Tagging is the latest feature to be released in the product and after receiving good feedback in the beta phase we are excited for this public release. The product team is already working on the next enhancements within Replay and we look forward to releasing these later in the year.”
