Looking for places to go to improve? We surveyed a group of our soccer coaches to find out where they go to get better. Check out our top five.

In any sport, you are always looking for ways to improve. Whether you’re an athlete or a coach, there are countless resources out there on the internet for you to reference, but how do you find them?

We surveyed a group of our coaches to find out where they go to keep up with the latest trends within the sport of soccer. Here are five of the best coaching resources you need to know as you get ready for the upcoming season.

USC

For 75 years, the United Soccer Coaches have helped grow generations of soccer coaches, and they’ve brought that insight into the digital age. With their online coaching, USC offers a “comprehensive yet focused curriculum inclusive of all coaches at all levels of the game.”

USC offers online courses for coaches across the country to become certified in all aspects of the game. From the principles of attacking and defending to a course on playing like a European club champion - it’s a one stop shop for everything coaching.

Check out their website for more details and find a course that’s right for you.

The Coaching Manual

We partner with The Coaching Manual to help bring premium coaching content to our grassroots community in the UK. They have loads of valuable blog content with introductions to certain formations and tactics in addition to their premium video content - where they partner with clubs like Southampton FC - to help educate their community of over 50,000 people.

Here is just a taste at some of the content they provide their community.

This is a subscription based service, so assess the package that is right for your team before signing up. With your Hudl subscription, you also get 25% off of your subscription to The Coaching Manual when you sign up.

As a bonus, we're offering all current members of The Coaching Manual a 25% discount on their Hudl subscription when they sign up. If you have questions, reach out to our sales team for more information.

US Soccer Digital Coaching Center

For licenses to coach at certain levels, coaches turn to the US Soccer Digital Coaching Center, but they also offer courses for the parent coach in all of us. They have a free two-hour video course, completely online, so you can familiarize yourself with the game.

If you’re looking for something a little more specific, sign up for an account for free to access their resources page - which features player development initiatives and much more. Sign up for a U.S. Soccer coaching course that they administer, or for a $25 annual subscription, you can get access to training exercises and session outlines to implement with your team.

Nike Academy Preseason

One of our personal favorites, the Nike Academy has taken training digital. Their videos, with soccer specific drills for all age groups, are some of the best on the internet. Check out this video to see for yourself.

Don’t just take our word for it. Check out their website here and try some of the drills with your team at your next training session.

1x1 Sport

This is your one stop shop for soccer systems/formation education, training insights and strategy. Their website is full of downloadable content for an affordable rate. If you’re into free content their YouTube channel might be just what you’re looking for.

Their content is served in multiple languages so viewers from all over the world can take advantage of their valuable insight. Here’s a personal favorite on endurance training for you and your team.
