Educated teams across multiple sports about the power of video.

Who: Steve Standefer, Video Coordinator at Oak Ridge High School

The Story: Talk to anyone at Oak Ridge High School in Texas about Coach Standefer and they will be quick to tell you he’s a man that wears many hats.

Not only is Standefer an assistant coach for the football team, but he shares his video knowledge with several of the school’s other sports including softball, baseball, track and soccer. And he does it with great passion, as evidenced in a guest blog he wrote about how to successfully run a video crew.

One to always find new ways to use video in sports, Standefer recently experimented with encouraging player development in softball and baseball by intercutting and analyzing multiple angles of video, something not many coaches at that level are doing.

“It’s better to see a wrong step in August and correct it right away – or even the next day – than to try nipping a bad habit in December when that state championship is on the line. And even if you don’t see your mistakes, somebody else will.” – Steve Standefer
