Neil Hope

Stressed the importance of video in player development.

Who: Neil Hope, head coach of Omaha Sporting FC U18G

The Story: Coach Hope fully understands the power of video analysis as it relates to player development, which is why he stresses the importance of watching yourself play to any coach, player or parent that will listen.

The soccer community is coming around to video at a rapid pace, but his teams have long been aware of how video can reinforce proper technique and winning habits. Since 2010, they have integrated Hudl as a part of team breakdowns, scouting and classroom sessions. Players are now able to interact with their teammates and parents in a whole different way.

Hopes’ Omaha FC U18 girls’ team has produced 63% of the Division I national letters of intent in the state of Nebraska, and his team was the first from Nebraska to ever make the U18 finals.
