Who: Kim Ewe, head coach for the Castelfranco Cavaliers and member of the Danish American Football Federation

The Story: Coach Ewe is seen as a pioneer for American football in Denmark, taking the game from “street football” to “organized football” in a relatively short period of time.

Ewe, who was born and raised in Denmark, first learned of American football through a computer game he played as a kid, and he’s been hooked ever since.

All these years later and Ewe is now a five-time national champion head coach and a four-time national champion player.

Ewe’s next conquest? Establishing American football in Italy.

““Kim Ewé is more or less an institution in Danish Football. He is involved with the national team, the education of new coaches, and has been very helpful to other teams. His results speak for itself, and he has had success everywhere he has coached. He will be missed on the Danish sidelines, but I think it is very impressive that he gets a shot at coaching abroad. I wish him much success in Italy.” – Thomas Pederson, head coach for the Aarhus Tigers (Denmark)
