Course 6:   Statistics

Lesson 2:   Best Practices

  1. Dashboard
From here you can see your team’s point scoring percentage, attack efficiency, block touch percentage, side out percentage and defensive conversion percentage. Check this dashboard from week to week to see how your team’s stats change.

  2. Make Better Decisions
There are tons of ways to improve your decisions with these statistics. Here are just a few examples.

    • Under the serving category, you notice player 15 has a lower-than-average point scoring percentage. Player 7, who doesn’t play as often, has a much higher point scoring percentage. You decide to sub player 7 in to serve for player 15 during your next match. You continue to track player 7’s point scoring percentage each week to ensure they’re still performing well.
    • On the Scoring tab, you notice your team’s PS consistently decreases from game one until game five. You decide to work with your team on serving during the parts of practice when they’re most tired. You watch to make sure your PS increases during games two through five over the next few weeks.
