Course 1:   Season Prep

As of March 13, 2023, Hudl Academy will be undergoing changes. While this site is under construction, please connect with our tutorials, classes, or YouTube channel for up-to-date information on all Hudl products and workflows.

Lesson 1:   Start Strong from Last Season

  1. Note: If you’re new to Hudl, you can skip this lesson for now. But keep it in mind for next year.

  2. Remove old athletes. It’s time to make room for your new crew. Don’t worry — previous athletes will still have access to their highlights after you remove them from the team.

  3. Delete old groups. You probably don’t need your 2016 – 17 Strikers” group anymore. Delete it and start fresh.

  4. Update athlete information. A lot can change season to season. Be sure to keep jersey numbers and positions up to date in your roster.

  5. Move athletes between teams. We’re all about player development. That’s why it’s easy to move athletes between Hudl teams once they’ve earned it. (Think JV to varsity or under-16 to under-17.)

  6. Attach videos and playlists to a schedule entry. Cleaning up your library makes it simple to find any video you need whenever you need it.

  7. Declutter your library. Some good, old fashioned spring cleaning will help keep your account organized. Remember, you can always download the video before you delete it so you still have a copy.

  1. Take it to the next level

  2. Restore athletes. Accidentally delete an athlete? No worries, you can restore them in a few clicks.

  3. Sort by the information that matters to you. Click the headers in your roster to quickly view athletes by position, grad year or user activity. This makes it super easy to find and remove last year’s seniors from your team.
