Lesson 5:   FAQ

  1. Can I submit JV matches to Hudl Assist? Assist sub­scrip­tions and credits are team-based. If you purchased Hudl Assist for your varsity team and want to send a JV match, great! You’ll just need to purchase a sub­scrip­tion or credit for that team first. 

  2. How many matches can I submit in a day? As a team, you can send three matches every 24 hours. For example, if you send a match at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., you’ll need to wait until 8 a.m. the next day to send another one. 

  3. Can I submit scrimmages? You bet. As long as it’s played like a normal match with the same rules, it can be broken down. 

  4. Why did my match get rejected and what do I do? This doesn’t happen often, but if it does, you’ll get an email explaining why. Maybe it was a JV match sent by the varsity team. If the video quality was too poor or recorded from a weird angle, check out our recording tips for your next match. Was your video was out of order? Try uploading it again. Here are a few other common scenarios we’ve seen where video is rejected:

    • Video is incomplete or missing portions. 
    • Video doesn’t start at the beginning of the match. 
    • Video is shorter or longer than it should be without any explanation from the coach. 
    • Something blocks the view of part of the field.

  5. What do I do if I want player stats but my jersey numbers are hard to read? You know that ​“Notes” section at the bottom of the submission page? Leave us one with the details on who’s who. Something like “#12 is has braids” or “#23 is wearing green gloves.” We’ll do our best to still break down player stats, but we can’t make any promises. 

  6. What if a player had to wear a jersey different than what’s on my Hudl roster? No worries. Just click ​“Edit jerseys” on the submission page and let us know what number the athlete wore in the match you’re submitting.

  7. What reports will I get with my Hudl Assist breakdown? Stats give you insights into your team’s play — and your opponent’s. Click Reports at the top of your page to access the stats report, box score, shot chart, trends report and goals report. 

  8. Can I still watch my game while your analysts are breaking it down? Definitely.

  9. Can anyone on my team submit matches to Hudl Assist? Yep, any coach or admin on your Hudl team will see the option to submit your matches, and you’ll receive a noti­fi­ca­tion when we have it.
