Connect Your YouTube Account

For any YouTube account relat­ed issues please con­tact YouTube sup­port.

Your team will need to cre­ate a YouTube account in order to livestream Hudl Focus games online. Learn how to cre­ate your YouTube account here. Ideally, your school will set up their own pri­vate YouTube chan­nel for all teams to stream events. Individual teams may also set up their own YouTube accounts for stream­ing purposes.


Be sure to set up your YouTube account at least 24 hours before your first game. 

Verify YouTube Account

Once you have ver­i­fied your YouTube account you’ll be able to upload videos that are more than 15 min­utes long. 

  1. Go to http://​www​.youtube​.com/​v​erify

  2. Select the coun­try you are in and pick if you’d like to receive a phone call or text mes­sage then click Submit

  3. Once you get the text or phone call, enter the ver­i­fi­ca­tion code and click Submit

  4. When you get back to the sta­tus and fea­tures page, you will now see that your account has been verified. 

Connect Your YouTube Account

  1. Open the Focus app and log in. 

  2. Tap the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner. 

  3. Tap Sign in and Link Your Account. 

  4. Tap Connect YouTube Account. 

  5. Sign in to your YouTube Account. 

  6. Tap Allow to give the cam­era access to the livestream and then tap okay. 

Embed A Livestream Online

Be sure to pro­mote your livestream before, dur­ing, or after an event on a team web­site or social media profile. 

  1. Under the video, click Share

  2. Click Embed. 

  3. Highlight and copy the text. Then you can input the text on the web­site of your choosing. 

Save A Livestream

You can save a livestream from your YouTube account at any time. Keep in mind any videos streamed to YouTube from Hudl Focus are also being record­ed and uploaded to your Hudl account. 


If you’d like to have the score shown on your livestream, your score­board needs to be in the camera’s field of view and turned on dur­ing instal­la­tion. See the full list of instal­la­tion require­ments here.
