Save Timeline as an .MOV File

This tutorial is specific to Sportscode v11. Have Hudl Sportscode, our newest product? Use these resources.

Exporting your timeline as a single .mov file is useful when uploading to online video platforms or sharing video with non-Sportscode users.

Before saving as a .mov file, video should either be live captured into Sportscode, or converted using New Movie Package or HandBrake.

  1. Open the movie package.

  2. Under File find Export and click Convert movie fast.

  3. Choose the desired export resolution and frame rate from the drop-down menu. This will differ based on the video and your location. Contact support if you aren’t sure which format is right for you. Unless you want to place this back into a package, uncheck the box for place export inside a movie package.

Be sure to keep the .mov extension when renaming the exported video. Deleting this can corrupt the video file and result in an unplayable video.

  4. If you choose, you can reduce the file size using the custom data rate. Simply select the checkbox for custom data rate and set the number you desire. This will also differ based on your video and location. Contact support if you aren’t sure which format is right for you.

The default is set to 6000, we recommend staying below that as the quality will not be increased significantly by making it higher (only a larger file size).

  5. Choose a destination and click Save.

  6. An Export window should appear with a status bar. Once the export is complete, you can share the .mov file.

The longer the video, the longer this process will take.
