Set Up a Live Capture - Capture from an IP Stream

This tutorial is specific to Sportscode v11. Have Hudl Sportscode, our newest product? Use these resources.

This feature is only available with Version 11 of Sportscode Elite. Interested in Upgrading?

In addition, the IP stream must use RTSP, not HTTP or RTMP, and needs to be on a ethernet connection. VOD (streaming video on demand) isn’t supported.

  1. Configure your IP camera and determine the stream address. Contact your IT administrator for more details or use this site to help determine your address. Select your camera brand from the list, then find the camera model on the following page.

  2. Launch Sportscode, then click Capture and select IP Capture...

  3. Click i.

  4. Click the feed icon.

Feeds only need to be created once. For future captures with the same feed, skip to step 9.

  5. Click the + icon.

  6. Double-click New Feed and rename the stream as desired. Press return on your keyboard to save.

  7. Be sure your feed is selected, then type your stream address next to Feed Address.

  8. If using a secure feed, enter your information for Username and Password.

Username and Password may not be required on all camera setups.

  9. Click the presets icon.

  10. Use the Feed drop-down to select the feed you created.

  11. Choose the desired capture preset from the Presets drop-down.

The HD 720 preset is recommended.

  12. Click Connect.

Your stream will appear in the capture window. Once you see it, close the inspector window.

  13. Initiate a capture by clicking the record icon.

From here you can begin live capture and live code.
