Record and upload using an iPad.

The simplest way to get video on Hudl is with the Hudl app. You’re able to upload as the game is happening, allowing you to watch the video as soon as the bus ride home. And if you don’t have access to WiFi during the game, you can still record and easily upload it when you get a connection by simply opening the app.

  1. Use the Hudl app on an iPad or iPhone to record.
  2. Select the camera icon from the menu or home page and start recording.
  3. Connect to WiFi as you record to upload the video live. (If you don’t have access to WiFi, you can always upload later.)
  4. Add details such as video title and type, then select or create a schedule entry.

Get your video online with a computer.

If you’re used to recording with your existing camera, that’s no problem. Hard drive cameras, especially those that record in high-definition, are great. When you’re done recording, just connect the camera to your computer and get that video uploaded to Hudl. (You can also pop out the camera’s SD card and plug that in instead.)

  1. Click Upload.
  2. Drag and drop your video into the browser, or select the file from your computer.
  3. Add details such as video title and type, then select or create a schedule entry.

Exchange video with other teams.

Exchanges on Hudl are similar to what you’re used to, but more teams using the same platform means exchanging film with opponents will be easier than ever. With the click of a button, you can send video to teams on Hudl (or request they send you video). If you come across a team that isn’t using Hudl, just download your video and you’ll receive an email with a link to forward on.

Note: If you’re listed as a coach and not an admin on your Hudl team, you won’t see the exchanges tab in your account. Reach out to a team administrator to exchange the video or to change your role from coach to admin.
