Use SlingStudio with Production Truck

The information below will guide your equipment, software, and network setup in order to run SlingStudio with BlueFrame Production Truck.

SlingStudio is a wireless camera system that allows multiple transmitters to send signals to one centralized hub. It does not require major cabling between the computer, capture card device, and cameras. A capture card device (such as a Blackmagic DeckLink Quad) is not needed with a setup like this.

The above image is an example of how this setup can function when SlingStudio is used in conjunction with Production Truck and vCloud.

There does need to be a capture card between the SlingStudio hub and the computer.

There are a few things to consider when utilizing this setup:

  • There is a longer delay with the video feeds that are coming into the SlingStudio setup.
  • Switching video using SlingStudio has to be done from the SlingStudio app—it doesn’t feed all four cameras directly into the Production Truck software. The SlingStudio feed comes into Production Truck as a single camera source.
  • Audio must be first input into the SlingStudio, and then fed into a capture device and the computer with the Production Truck software.
