Livestream Games with Vimeo
Vimeo allows for livestreaming via a camera or a mobile device. Be sure to choose the best option for your organization.

We recommend recording the game with your usual recording workflow in addition to any livestreaming servcice you might use.
Livestream from a Camera
Follow these steps to learn how to go live with Vimeo, and be sure to check out the essential gear you'll need for a successful livestream.
Livestream from a Mobile Device
Pregame
- The Vimeo app on iOS and Android includes the ability to stream live directly from your mobile device, allowing users to quickly go live on the go. Must be a Vimeo Premium member or higher to livestream.
- To livestream from your device, you must have iOS 11.4 or higher, or Android version 6 or higher installed.
Game Time:
- Open the Vimeo app on your iOS or Android device, then tap the blue Add button in the center navigation.
- Enter an event title for a new event, or open the drop-down to choose an existing event.

- Manage your streaming destinations and privacy settings under the Destinations tab. Camera settings can be modified by tapping the Camera Settings icon near the record button.
- Tap the Red button to start recording.
- The icon will spin for a moment, then disappear and show a red “LIVE” box in the upper right corner alongside a viewer count and a timer. The camera settings are still accessible during your livestream.
- Tap the red square icon to end the livestream.
Postgame
Once the livestream has ended your recording will be archived as a video. You can access this directly from the app as well as the video manager when logged in on a computer.
- Download your video from Vimeo by following these steps.
- Once the video has downloaded from Vimeo, upload it to Hudl by following these steps.
