Athlete's Guide to Recruiting
Interested in playing at the next level? Hudl is here to help you get noticed. Start by updating your profile and highlights, this is a recruiter’s hub for information on you, so make sure it’s a good representation of who you are, as both a student and an athlete.
Athletes must opt in to recruiting to allow their Hudl profile to be viewed by registered recruiters.
What are the most important fields for me to fill out?
You’ll see an R icon next to fields that are hidden from the public but are viewable by recruiters if you opt in to recruiting. The more filled out your profile is, the more comprehensive view recruiters will have of you as a student-athlete
What does my profile look like to a recruiter?
Below is a screenshot of what your profile will look like to a college recruiter once you opt in to recruiting, this is the same view you have of your own profile.
Remember to update your profile after each season to ensure the most updated information is available.
Can recruiters automatically see my information?
Recruiters can always find your public profile, but when you opt in to recruiting, they’ll have access to more of the content that helps them evaluate you as a recruitable athlete. This includes contact information, your academic and athletic stats, highlights and full videos of your games.
How do I change the recruitment contact?
An admin on your coaching staff will need to update this information for the team on Hudl. To do so they’ll hover over Recruiting and select Recruiting Settings. You can update your personal contact information or your guardians by editing your profile.
How do I create a highlight?

How can I send a full game video to a recruiter?
Once you opt in to recruiting, recruiters will have access to your full game videos, highlights, academic and athletic stats, and contact information.
Can I upload my own videos to my account?
Athletes don't have the ability to upload video. Reach out to a coach and ask if they can upload additional videos to your team’s video Library for you to use in a highlight.
