This command allows you to specify the selection of instances according to set conditions.

FORMAT: label_name WHERE conditions

DEFINITIONS:

  • label_name: Quoted text specifying the label you wish to count in the front timeline or instances. (Can be grouped using OR, AND, NOT.) Optional WHERE conditions include ROW = quoted text or ROW !=quoted text (which can be grouped using OR, AND, NOT)
  • condition: A condition is most often used in the form "= text or number" but can also use the operators < > !=

EXAMPLE 1:

$off = count instances where row = "Offense"
show $off

Counts the number of instances in the row called "Offense" of the timeline. The result is stored in the $off variable and then displayed using the SHOW command.

EXAMPLE 2:

$poss = count "Kobe Bryant" where row = "Offense" or row = "Defence"
show $poss

Counts the number of instances containing the label "Kobe Bryant" in the rows called "Offense" or "Defense" of the timeline. The result is stored in the $poss variable and then displayed using the SHOW command.

EXAMPLE 3:

$poss = count "Kobe Bryant" where row != "Offense"
show $poss

Counts the number of instances containing the label "Kobe Bryant" in the timeline except in the row called "Offense". The result is stored in the $poss variable and then displayed using the SHOW command.
