Send Video from Wirecast to a Livestream Platform

Now that your broad­cast is up and run­ning, send your video to one of the fol­low­ing livestream plat­forms to share with fans:

YouTube

  1. Log in to your YouTube account, click on the Camera icon and select Go Live.

  2. Select the Stream icon.

  3. Make note of the Stream Key field, you’ll need this lat­er in the set up process.

  4. In Wirecast, click Output and select Output Settings.

  5. Select RTMP Server as your Destination then click OK.

  6. Give your server a name in Wirecast.

  7. Copy and paste the Stream URL you found in YouTube Studio on Step 3 into the address field.

  8. Copy and paste the Stream Key from YouTube Studio in Step 3 into the stream field.

  9. Click OK.

  10. Click Output then Start/Stop Broadcasting and select the RTMP Server destination you just created.

  11. Your video is now live on YouTube.

  12. When finished click Output then Start/Stop Broadcasting then select Stop All.

NFHS

  1. Log in to your NFHS account and click Add New Event.

  2. In the Event Creation work­flow, tog­gle your event to Manual event and then input all the infor­ma­tion in the text fields that is relat­ed to your event.

  3. Click Add Event.

  4. In the Event Detail tab, make note of the Event ID for future ref­er­ence in this set up process.

  5. In Wirecast, click Output and select Output Settings.

  6. Select RTMP Server as your Destination then click OK.

  7. Give your serv­er a name in Wirecast.

  8. Copy and paste rtmp://video.nfhsnetwork.com/playon into the address line.

  9. Copy and paste the event ID you found in NFHS on Step 3 into the stream line.

  10. Click OK.

  11. Click Output then Start/​Stop Broadcasting and select the RTMP Server des­ti­na­tion you just created.

  12. In NFHS click on the current Live Stream event at the bottom of the window.

  13. In the Productions tab, you should now see the the event is listed as HLSStreaming

  14. Click on Stream Controls then select Go on Air.

    Allow 5-10 minutes for your live stream to appear on NFHS Network for viewing.

  15. When fin­ished click Output then Start/​Stop Broadcasting then select Stop All.

Facebook

  1. In your Facebook account, click on the Live Video button.

  2. Click on Use Stream Key and take note of the Stream Key list­ed, you’ll need this lat­er in the set up process.

  3. In Wirecast, click Output and select Output Settings.

  4. Select RTMP Server as your Destination then click OK.

  5. Give your serv­er a name in Wirecast.

  6. Copy and paste the Server URL you found in Facebook on Step 2 to the address field.

  7. Copy and paste the Stream Key you found in Facebook on Step 2 to the stream field.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Output then Start/​Stop Broadcasting and select the RTMP Server des­ti­na­tion you just created.

  10. Your video is now live on Facebook.

  11. When fin­ished click Output then Start/​Stop Broadcasting then select Stop All.

Presto Sports

  1. In Wirecast, click Output and select Output Settings

  2. Select RTMP Server as your Destination.

  3. Give your serv­er a name in Wirecast.

  4. Use the RTMP address provided by Presto Sports for the address line.

  5. Use the stream ID provided by Presto Sports for the Stream line.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Click Output then Start/​Stop Broadcasting and select the RTMP Server des­ti­na­tion you just created.

  8. Your video is now live on Presto Sports.

  9. When fin­ished click Output then Start/​Stop Broadcasting then select Stop All.

BlueFrame Technology (vCloud)

In order to stream to the Blue Frame Technology service through an RTMP connection via Wirecast, you will need to login to the vCloud Streaming Service with your credentials provided by BlueFrame Technology. See more on creating a broadcast here.

  1. To create your RTMP broadcast go to Manage Broadcasts, or Broadcast Grid.

  2. At the top right-hand side of the page click Operations, and Create Broadcast.

    If you have already created your broadcast you will need to edit it.

  3. Once your broadcast is set up, go to the Alternate Sources box, and change the Alternate Sources drop-down from None to RTMP.

  4. Now, go to the bottom of the page and click Create.

  5. Once created you can go back to the Manage Broadcasts or Broadcast Grid page and click on the “i” icon or magnifying glass for more information about the broadcast.

  6. This is where you will find your RTMP information and where you can watch the video player when you go live.

  7. Now, you will need to input information into Wirecast.

  8. Upon opening up Wirecast input your RTMP information by going to Output and Output Settings.

  9. You will then input the Host information (from vCloud) into the Address field and the Stream Name (from vCloud) in the Stream Field.
