Connect Focus to Sideline
In order to integrate your Outdoor Focus camera with Hudl Sideline, you'll want to first make sure the private IP address of your Focus camera is off the 192.168 range.
The hardware in your kit will determine how you connect your Hudl Focus camera to your Sideline kit. Make sure you are following the steps according to your Sideline setup.
Sideline Kits With a Square Press Box Access Point
Sideline Kits Without an Ethernet Adapter
-
Lift the board inside the press box kit to access the press box access point.
-
Locate the orange ethernet cable that’s connected to the accessory port on the Focus camera. Plug the other end of the cable into port 2 of the press box access point (the port is located on the bottom left).
Double-check that you are plugging the ethernet cable into the bottom left port, labeled port 2. Plugging into the wrong port could damage your hardware.
-
Place the board back over the press box access point.
-
Open the Hudl Sideline App and tap start recording.
-
In the bottom left, tap Camera Setup
-
Once there, tap on the toggle to set the Pressbox camera to Hudl Focus and then tap Save.
-
Try recording a few clips of the Focus video feed on your Sideline recording iPad to make sure everything looks good. Continue to use Sideline as normal.
Sideline Kits With an Ethernet Adapter
If you’ve previously connected Hudl Focus to your Sideline kit, the ethernet adapter should already be connected to your press box access point—you can skip to step four.
-
Lift the board inside the press box kit to access the press box access point.
-
Plug the ethernet adapter into port 2 of the press box access point (the port is located on the bottom left).
Double-check that you are plugging the ethernet adapter into the bottom left port, labeled port 2. Plugging into the wrong port could damage your hardware.
-
Place the board back over the press box access point, making sure the open port of the ethernet adapter is still accessible above the board.
-
Try recording a few clips of the Focus video feed on your Sideline recording iPad to make sure everything looks good. Continue to use Sideline as normal.
-
Locate the orange ethernet cord that’s connected to the accessory port on the Focus camera. Plug the other end of that cord into the ethernet adapter from step two.
