Update Display Drivers

  1. Reasons when updating your video drivers may be necessary:

    • Choppy playback on videos.
    • Video plays in fast or slow motion.
    • Video does not play in Hudl Video Editor when previewing clips from a DV camera.
    • In the review stage of Mercury, the clips do not play back correctly. They might appear choppy, or in slow/fast motion. If you get a source URI error, check out this tutorial.
  2. Click the Start menu and type Device Manager.

  3. Select Device Manager and open Display Adapters.

  4. You will see a list of the drivers that are installed on your computer. Typically, if you do not have a special video card installed only one driver will be listed. Right-click on it and go to Properties.

  5. Open the Driver tab.

  6. The Driver Date indicates when the driver was released. Drivers are often updated, so if the driver is outdated, it needs updated.

  7. Click Update Driver to see if the computer can automatically find a driver to install.

  8. If the computer does not automatically update the driver, follow these links to manually install an updated driver.

Once installed, restart your computer for the changes take effect.
