Add Coaches (Desktop)

Only team administrators can add coaches.

  1. Log in to Hudl.com, then hover over Team and select Manage Team.

  2. Click Add Team Members.

  3. Fill out the coach's information in the fields provided. Select Role then Coach or give your coach Admin capabilities.

    Admins can:

    • Add, edit and delete coaches
    • Access all library content
    • Exchange video with other Hudl teams
    • Send recruiting packages
    • View and pay invoices
  4. All other fields are optional. Phone Number and Phone Carrier are necessary if you plan to use text notifications.

  5. Click Save and Add Another.

I am the Athletic Director and need access to all teams on our school account. How do I do that?

There are a couple of different ways that you can gain access:

  1. Have the admin on each team (usually the head coach) add you to the roster.
  2. Request that our Support team add you to the account. In order for us to do that, we’ll need written permission. Send us an email at support@hudl.com with your name, contact info and title to get the ball rolling.
I'm the new head coach and I need access to the account. Can you add me?

  2. Request that our Support team add you to the account. Our team will need written permission from either your Athletic Director or principal by having them email

    support@hudl.com with your name, contact info and title.

I have access to our JV team but I also need access to Varsity. How can I get added?

Reach out to the admin on the Varsity account (usually the head coach) to have them add you to the team roster.

I am getting an error message when I enter an athlete’s email address. What am I doing wrong?

Double check that this athlete’s email address is not already listed on your current roster, or in the removed members section. If it is, you will receive this error message.

I added an athlete to my roster and they’re not receiving an email from Hudl.

Double check that there is not a spelling error in the email address, and that the email address is correct. If the athlete is using a school issued email address, a firewall may be blocking emails from Hudl. Read more about that here.

I’m trying to add another Coach to the account, but it’s only letting me choose ‘Athlete’ for the role. What gives?

Only team admins on the account can add other coaches. If you’re only given the option to add athletes, this means you are listed as a coach on the account and not an Admin.

Why does it say ‘Pending Invite’ next to my players on the roster?

This means that you have successfully invited the athletes to the account, but they have not yet taken action and logged in to Hudl with this email address.

Do I have to accept the players to my roster even though I already added them?

If you added your athletes using the team invite code option, you will have to accept them on the ‘Manage Team’ page once they accept the invite.

Add Coaches (iOS)

Only team administrators can add coaches.

  1. Log in to the Hudl app and tap Team Members.

  2. Tap the add member icon.

  3. Enter the required information for First Name, Last Name and Email.

    Phone Number and Phone Carrier are necessary if you plan to use text notifications.

  4. Select Coach.

  5. Tap Save & Add Another or Save Member.

    You'll see a confirmation message at the top of your screen once your coach has been successfully added.
