Football | Tag Stats Live

Tagging live is only avail­able on iPads.

  1. Log in to the Hudl app, then tap Tag a Game in the menu.

  2. Select the game you’re tag­ging. If the game isn’t list­ed, tap The game isn’t list­ed… to add it to the schedule.

  3. Tap whether you’re Playing Them or Scouting Them.

  4. Select one of the kick­ing options: 

    • Kickoff
    • Received Kickoff
    • Onside Kick

    Tagging play­er stats is optional.

  5. On kick­offs, you can tag the following:

    • Kicker: Tap the ath­lete who kicked off.
    • Returner: Tap the ath­lete that returned the kickoff.
    • Tackler: Tap up to two ath­letes who were involved in the tackle.
    • Caught on: Use the yard line spin­ner in the top right to iden­ti­fy where the ball was caught.
    • Returned to: Use the yard line spin­ner in the top right to iden­ti­fy where the ball was returned.
    • Hash: Choose left, mid­dle or right hash.
  6. After the kick­off, tag the first pos­ses­sion. The options avail­able are:

    • Run
    • Complete Pass
    • Incomplete Pass
    • QB Scramble
    • Interception
    • QB Sack
    • Punt
    • FG Attempt
    • Pre-Snap Penalty
  7. For a run play, tag the following:

    • Rusher
    • Tackler(s)
    • Gain
    • Spot
    • Hash

    Then tap Finish Tagging this Play.

  8. For a pass play, tag the following:

    • Passer
    • Tackler
    • Receiver
    • Gain
    • Spot
    • Hash

    Then tap Finish Tagging this Play.

  9. On 4th down, Hudl assumes the most com­mon option is a punt. If the 4th down play is not a punt, select from the following: 

    • Run
    • Complete Pass
    • Incomplete Pass
    • QB Scramble
    • Interception
    • QB Sack
    • Punt
    • FG Attempt
    • Penalty
  10. If at any time you miss a play, tap Catch Up. You’ll iden­ti­fy who has pos­ses­sion of the ball, the cur­rent quar­ter, down, hash and the dis­tance to go. The last step is to spot the ball and select OK, Let’s Go. You can man­u­al­ly enter any missed data once tags have been uploaded.

  11. At the end of each quar­ter, tap End Quarter.

  12. At the end of the game, select End of Regulation.

  13. Tap End Game.

  14. When con­nect­ed to Wi-Fi, select Upload Stats to Hudl​.com. The data will auto­mat­i­cal­ly import to the library and will be ready to match with the video clips.
