Tag Stats Live

  1. Log in to the Hudl app, then tap Tag a Game in the menu.

  2. Select the game you’re tagging.  If the game is not listed, tap The game isn’t listed… to add it to the schedule.

  3. Choose whether you are Playing Them or Scouting Them.

  4. Select one of the kicking options: 

    • Kickoff
    • Received Kickoff
    • Onside Kick
    • Out of Bounds
    • Penalty

    Tagging player stats is optional.

  5. On kickoffs, you can tag the following:

    • Kicker: Tap the athlete who kicked off.
    • Returner: Tap the athlete that returned the kickoff.
    • Tackler: Tap up to two athletes who were involved in the tackle.
    • Caught On: Use the yard line spinner in the top right to identify where the ball was caught.
    • Returned To: Use the yard line spinner in the top right to identify where the ball was returned.
    • Hash: Choose Left, Middle, or Right Hash.
  6. After the kickoff, tag the first possession. The options available are:

    • Run
    • Complete Pass
    • Incomplete Pass
    • QB Scramble
    • Interception
    • QB Sack
    • Punt
    • FG Attempt
    • Penalty
  7. For a Run play, tag the following:

    • Rusher
    • Tackler(s)
    • Spot the ball
    • Hash

    Then tap Finish Tagging this Play.

  8. For a Pass play, tag the following:

    • Passer
    • Tackler
    • Receiver
    • Spot the ball
    • Hash

    Then tap Finish Tagging this Play.

  9. On 4th Down, Hudl assumes the most common option is a punt. If the 4th down play is not a punt, select from the following: 

    • Run
    • Complete Pass
    • Incomplete Pass
    • QB Scramble
    • Interception
    • QB Sack
    • FG Attempt
    • Penalty

    Miss a play?  Tap Catch Up if a play or segment of the game is missed. Then identify who has possession of the ball, the current quarter, down, hash, distance to go, and spot the ball. Select OK, Let’s Go.  You’ll be able to manually enter any missed data once tags have been uploaded.

  10. At the end of the game, select End of Regulation and End of Game.

  11. When connected to Wi-Fi, select Upload Stats to Hudl.com. The data will automatically import to the library and will be ready to match with the video clips.
