The U.S. Soccer Development Academy will now incorporate Hudl in its commitment to the development of top talent in the United States, with the ultimate goal of providing resources and support to Academy member clubs to improve performance at the highest levels of play.
The Development Academy consists of 149 Clubs, 10,500 athletes and 1,050 coaches across the U.S., and all will utilize Hudl’s software to not only evaluate top talent, but to analyze their own games.
“Hudl will be an important tool for U.S. Soccer to supplement Development Academy talent identification, player monitoring, and scout education with a high quality video platform,” said Tony Lepore, National Director of Scouting at U.S. Soccer.
In addition, all coaches within the Development Academy will have access to exclusive training content through Hudl’s learning management tools. This content will feature fundamentals of filming and video management, as well as tips and tricks for using Hudl’s suite of tools to its fullest potential.
"U.S. Soccer's progressive approach to performance improvement and talent identification distinguishes them among Federations of comparable size. In bringing all of the Development Academy clubs into the Hudl platform, coaches and scouts are able to utilize video to supplement talent identification across an entire season more easily and effectively. Hudl is extremely proud to play its part in what should serve as a model for other Federations," said Matt Mueller, General Manager at Hudl.
According to the Development Academy, Hudl is a gateway to continuing the advancement of player development in the United States by utilizing it to promote educational opportunities between coaches and players off the field. “The Development Academy believes in a holistic approach to elite player development and utilizing video for educational purposes is a key component in that process,” said Jared Micklos, Development Academy Director. “We believe having quick and seamless access to game or training film will accelerate learning. The Hudl platform provides players, coaches, referees, and scouts opportunities to continually learn and improve their on-field performance.”
