For as much as we learn at clinics, through research or on the phone with Hudl users, the truth is that nothing is as eye-opening as seeing coaches and athletes in their element on gameday.
That’s why we decided to hit the road, visiting 15 different basketball programs this winter. Seeing those teams in person allows Hudlies from across the company to not only meet coaches and athletes, but also experience the action firsthand.
Anyone at Hudl can attend a trip, from those in marketing and sales, to the Hudlies in charge of designing the app and supporting our coaches. Watching a coach review video with the team might give a Coach Relations member new insight for the next call they take, or show a developer where a feature could be simplified. Connecting with users gives us a chance to understand their processes, so we can better tell their stories and meet their needs.
We’re going to recap some of these trips on the blog; sharing experiences, pictures and stories from the schools that invited us to hang out for a game or two, and talking about what we learned from them.
Field trips give us the chance to support teams in the locker room before a game, in the stands when the pressure’s on, and at video review the next day – it’s an opportunity we wouldn’t trade for anything. Look for that first recap, about our trip to Sheldon High School, soon.
