Dr. William Spearman comes from a background in experimental particle physics. He completed his PhD at Harvard University through a collaboration with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). In 2014, William joined Hudl, as a data scientist, building tools and products to help coaches and analysts. William's research into football (soccer) focuses on the use of tracking data to describe passing and open space. William has presented his research at the 2016 and 2017 OptaPro Analytics Forum and at the 2017 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.
