Course 7:   A Guide to Soccer Reports

As of March 13, 2023, Hudl Academy will be undergoing changes. While this site is under construction, please connect with our tutorials, classes, or YouTube channel for up-to-date information on all Hudl products and workflows.

Lesson 2:   Discover Insights with Data

  1. Stats report. You’ll see everything from traditional stats like shots and assists to calculated stats like shooting percentage or possession percentage.

  2. Shot chart. How well are you crossing the ball from one side of field to another? Are your players shooting from where they’re most efficient? Get the answers you need and self-diagnose your offense with shot charts

  3. Box score. The basic summary of your stats from a single match. Simple, yet thorough.

  4. Trends report. Want to dial in on set pieces to see how your team is executing? Track the progress of your corner kicks and penalty kicks (or any stat) over the course of the season to see how your far your team has come.

  5. Goals report. Set team-based goals, like having more than 40 goals this season or a shooting percentage greater than 60%. Then track how well your players crush it.

  1. Take it to the next level

  2. Watch our online class on soccer stats. Eager to learn more? See how analytics fuels the modern game.

  3. Gain insights from multiple matches. Run a report on multiple match-ups from the same season or several seasons. The sky’s the limit.

  4. Filter by averages or totals. See how many saves your goalkeeper has this season, or how many they’re averaging per match.

  5. Share your stats. Save your report as a PDF and email it to a local newspaper, an athlete’s parents or another coach.
