The purpose of this tutorial video is to introduce how coaches can share film to recruiters through Hudl Recruiting.

With Hudl Recruiting you can replace the hassle of creating DVDs, the cost of sending video through the mail, and wondering whether the video ever gets to the recruiters you want to see your athletes with a few simple clicks. Hudl Recruiting allows you to quickly build and send recruiting packages consisting of highlights, game film, and custom playlists to recruiters, even if they don’t have a Hudl account. Once you have sent a recruiting package, Hudl Recruiting keeps track of who you sent film to and what video you sent them helping you get your players recruited more effectively.

Creating a Recruiting Package

The first step to using Hudl Recruiting is to create a recruiting package consisting of highlights, game film, and custom playlists for your players.You then share these recruiting packages to recruiters.

  1. Click on the button on the Hudl main menu.  This will take you to the Manage page for your team. On this page, you can manage all of the information related to your team.
  2. Click the Recruiting button to send a new package or view package history. The Recruiting button will only be available for team administrators.
  3. Click the New Recruiting button to begin creating a new recruiting package. The Create Recruiting Package dialog will appear.
  4. The Choose Athletes tab lets you pick the athletes you want to include in this recruiting package. You can include multiple athletes in a package rather than having to create an individual recruiting package for each athletes. Each recruit’s highlights will be automatically included in the recruiting package.

    Check the boxes next to each athlete you would like to include in the recruiting package.
    • The list of athletes shown is created from an algorithm that considers number of highlights, statistics, and number of times they have been sent in recruiting packages.
    • You can choose any athlete from your roster by typing in the Search for athlete… box and clicking their name.
  5. Click the Next button to select the athletes.
  6. The Choose Playlists tab lets you pick which playlists you want to include in the package. Check the boxes next to each playlist you want to include.
  7. The Choose Recruiters tab lets you pick which recruiters that will receive the recruiting package.
    • The list of recruiters shown includes some of the coaches you have sent video to most recently. Check the boxes next to each recruiter that you want to receive the recruiting package.
    • Enter an email of a recruiter in the Recruiter’s email address box to add a recruiter not shown in the list.
    • Enter any comments you would like the recruiter(s) to receive in the Comments box. These comments will be included in the email each coach receives.
  8. Click the Create Package button to create and send the recruiting package to the recruiters you selected.

View Previously Exchanged Recruiting Packages

The Hudl Recruiting page will list all of the Hudl Recruiting packages you have shared and what was included in them.

  • Access the Hudl Recruiting page by following steps 1-3 in the Creating a Recruiting Package section described above.
  • The Hudl Recruiting page lists the recruiting packages you have sent to recruiters with the most recent packages appearing at the top of the page.
  • Each package includes:
    • The Date the recruiting package was sent.
    • The Hudl user that created the recruiting package.
    • The Athletes included in the recruiting package. Note: Each player’s highlights are included in the recruiting package.
    • The Playlists included in the recruiting package.
    • The Recruiters that were sent the recruiting package.
