The purpose of this tutorial is to demonstrate the process of customizing your breakdown data view in Hudl Video Editor.
In Hudl Video Editor, you have the option of customizing the way you view the data columns. You are able to hide and arrange columns to best suit your workflow. You are also able to edit the values of the breakdown columns you created.
Customizing your data column view is a way to make your workflow more efficient. It gives you the ability to arrange columns in a pertinent order, according to the specific part of the game you are breaking down. Your view on Hudl Video Editor is separate from your view on Hudl.com. If you add a column in Hudl Video Editor, you will need to Edit Your Data View on Hudl.com in order to have the column show up in your data view on Hudl.com.

Customize Your Data View
- Click on the Manage button found in the top left of your screen.
- From the resulting sub-menu, choose Breakdown Columns.
- The resulting box will contain a list of all your current data columns.
From there, you will have the option to:
- Reorder Columns: Click on a column title and use the up and down arrows
to move the title to the desired position. The order it appears in the list reflects where the column will appear from left to right in the breakdown columns. - Hide/Show Columns: Click on a column title and click the hide button
to hide a column from your view. To make that column come back into your view, click on the column title and click the show button
. - Delete Your Custom Breakdown Columns: You have the option to delete any of the custom breakdown columns you create that has not been published yet. Click on the column title and click the Delete button
to delete a custom breakdown column. Once a column has been published in any project, it cannot be deleted but it can be hidden
Edit Column Values
- Click on a column title.
- The list of possible values will appear in the Possible Values list if any exist.
- In the Add Possible Value box, type the value you would like to add to the column.
- Click
when you are done to add the value. The value will now appear in the drop-down list for the specified column in the Video Editor and on Hudl.com after you publish.
When you have made all the changes you wish to make to your data view, click the Done button. The columns will appear how you selected in the clips list.
