Where are My Highlights?

You may have noticed recently that we have made a few changes to the way highlights work in Hudl.

With the joining of Hudl and MaxPreps, highlights can now be found on MaxPreps.com and on your team’s public page. Our recent update had some big new features, including the ability to decide which highlights coaches want to show on these pages.

Because we like to put the power in your hands, we’re letting you manage what video can be included in your highlights. Check out the rest of this post for more details on how all of this works.

If you are looking at a highlight page that used to be full of highlights and now only shows a few clips, chances are that the angles from those clips aren’t set as public. By default, the only angle that is public for your team is the Wide angle. If your team publishes game film in the Sideline, Tight, Endzone, or another angle, highlights tagged on these games will not be publicly available on your athletes’ highlight pages.

How do I get my Highlights Back?

Coaches can choose to activate those other angles on the Manage Highlights page. While logged in, go to the Manage tab and select your team. You will notice the new Highlights option under Video Details.

On this page you can select which angles you want to make publicly available for highlights. Wide will be auto-selected. To enable the other angles, simply check the box next to each angle you want public. Then click the Save Angle Preferences button to save your changes.

Now return to the highlights page: Boom! Your highlights are back!

We understand that highlights are a big reason why you use Hudl, so if you have any questions about how the new highlight privacy works, please contact our support department.
