We have ample opportunity to get to know our coaches and players. Now, it’s your turn to get to know us. Every week we’ll sit down with a member of the Hudl team and figure out how his or her mind works.
To kick things off, we give you Coach Support Specialist Mike Hays.
Shortly after Mike was born in Germany, his family moved to Nebraska. He was a Papillion resident until his sophomore year of high school when his dad got a job in Indiana.
When Mike realized he would be better recruited out of Papillion, he moved back to Nebraska and lived with his grandfather. He graduated a Monarch and played football for the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
As a three-year letterman, Mike graduated with a degree in criminology and criminal justice in December of 2011. He joined Hudl in January of 2012 and it didn’t take long for other Hudlies to see the teddy bear under that tough guy exterior.
While he gladly answers to “Hays” around the office, it turns out he wouldn’t mind a new nickname.
What song do you sing in the shower?
Come Clean – Hilary Duff
Talk about the worst physical pain you’ve experienced.
I managed to land my face on a concrete block when I was 10. Tore apart my lip and gum and had 46 stitches. So that kinda hurt.
Do you wish you had a different name?
I love my name as is, but if I were to change it at all it would have to be Lazer.
If you could live anywhere in the world at any point in history, where and when would you choose? Why?
I think I would do some damage in the 70’s. Disco dancing needed me.

If the whole world were to know one thing about you, what would you want it to be?
I have the most wonderful niece and nephew!
