I’m about as non-technical as you get. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed with the work that goes into breaking down your film. We’ve developed a great system at Lakeville North that allows us to quickly break down video on Saturday morning. We try to save time anywhere possible so we can have lives outside of football (and I can stay married).
Our defensive staff meets on Saturday mornings. After a couple donuts, we divide and conquer. We’ll get through four or five games by noon and have them broken down and uploaded to review at our leisure. After that, I can start scouting our upcoming opponent and finding their tendencies.
Check out the presentation to see how exactly we keep things simple.
I still give myself about 20% of the credit for beating cross-town rival Lakeville South for the first time, but I’ll give Hudl 50%, and we’ll let the players have the rest.
