The football season is nearly over. What better time to release Hudl’s new recruiting features and an improved highlight creator for athletes.
We’ve done our best to turn your off-season work into fun.
There are a slew of other new features and great updates within Hudl:

Recruiting Features
At the end of your season, you become your athletes’ biggest advocate to recruiters. Help them by making it easy for recruiters to watch your athletes’ best game video.
You can use Hudl to create “recruiting packages”. It’s way easier than burning and mailing a bunch of DVDs. Here’s how it works:
- Select which athlete(s) you want to focus on. You can create a single package that highlights several of your athletes.
- Pick the best set of game videos. We automatically include all the highlights for your athletes—recruiters want full games too.
- Enter email addresses for any recruiters you’d like to share with. Hudl handles the rest. We make it very easy for recruiters to notice your athletes.
Premium Highlights
For $25, your athletes can create mind-bogglingly awesome highlight reels with music, spot shadows, and title slides. Tell your athletes to login and try it out.
They can make as many as they want for free. We only charge money to view and share them with family and friends. When you consider the $600 a “professional” company will charge to create a custom reel as sweet as ours, $25 is a steal.
In a future release we’ll be making it easier to trim highlight footage down to just the best parts. We’ll also give coaches access to create spot shadow annotations on any clip.
Simple Team Messaging
We added a simple way to message your team from Hudl. This is all thanks to your feedback.
In the future, we’ll be making this an even more effective way to contact your athletes and coaches. Some of our coaches have picked up the trail.
Better Online Support & Tutorials
Check out our revamped support page along with our friendlier tutorials. Whether you’re looking for help with an issue or wanting to learn more about how to use Hudl, you should never have to strain to find what you need.

Last But Not Least
- We enlarged the video player slider to make it easier to move around your film and prevent the dreaded ‘single dot’ annotations.
- On your library management page, you can hover over any item in your library and see details like when it was created, by whom, etc.
- You can filter clips in your playlist by Team Highlights. Make sure you’ve got at least one team highlight in the playlist. Then click the star icon and choose ‘Team Highlights”.
That pretty much wraps it up. Congratulations on your seasons and good luck to those still battling.
