A Wife Swap Not Involving Wives

Think of it as a life swap, but not really a swap: We want a coach to visit us at the Hudl office and dig in with our product team. On top of that, we want to visit a team at some point in-season to see how Hudl fits into their daily operations.

Note: We’re not saying the coach who visits Hudl has to coach the team we’ll visit later this year - volunteering for one does not automatically qualify you for the other. Just sign up for whatever you’re most comfortable with. (If that means doing both, by all means, please do.)

All Things Hudl Up

For the second year in a row, we’re trekking coast to coast for the Hudl Up Tour. We had a nice run in 2012, so we’re going bigger and better this time around. That means 37 stops in less than two months to see all of you. We’ll introduce new features and old tricks, and share ways your opponent is getting the most out of Hudl.

The free event is split into three 30-minute sessions, giving you the ability choose what you learn:

Hudl Recruit is Fully Mobile

Looking up prospects on the go just got a lot easier. With Mobile Recruit, your favorite Hudl Recruit features are now available on the iPad.

You can comb through all 500,000 Hudl athletes, view highlights, and update your staff’s boards anytime, anywhere.

Did we mention coach and parent contact information? What about athletic stats and academic scores? Yeah, it’s all right there, in the app.

Using Hudl in Inclement Weather

In November 2012, the Northeast was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. Most schools were closed for at least a week, if not more. Our school was dismissed for a week due to the amount of destruction in our town and how unsafe the area was post-Sandy.  Not to mention we didn’t have power at the high school for five days. We downloaded cut-ups and game film to our iPads, iPhones, Androids, any device we could to stay ahead of the curve, knowing we were going to lose power and internet. We shared what we wanted our kids to download and sent out a Hudl message telling them what to download.

March Means More Clinics

March Madness doesn’t carry the same meaning on the Hudl clinic circuit, as it marks the end of our yearly run at 32 Glazier and 17 Nike COY clinics. That makes us sad, so we’re ramping up our plans for the 2013 Hudl Up Tour: an 8-week, 37-stop excursion beginning April 2 in Omaha.

Don’t think we’ll just sit around and watch basketball all month - we will still carry a strong presence at nearly 40 clinics in 23 states, including several in the next three weeks. Then, keep an eye on our blog, Twitter and Facebook for more information on the 2013 Hudl Up Tour. We have several ideas that will hopefully get you excited to come out and see us.

Again, it is March - Cue this!

Introducing Insider Accounts

Think about some of your favorite sports teams. Outside of a championship, what’s the one thing you want from them? Inside information. You read the newspaper, watch ESPN, and check Twitter, but do you ever really get enough?

Now, think about the team you coach. Your team’s supporters - fans, parents, and alumni - are in the same boat. They want to know more, and chances are they’re willing to pay for it, as long as it helps the team.

You’re sitting on a pile of money and you don’t even know it.

You already ask your supporters to buy cookie dough, discount cards, pizzas - things that don’t excite them. Instead, give them something they actually want: an Insider Account.

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: More Clinics in 2013

Ninety-five clinics down, and about 139 to go. Last week concluded another busy traveling weekend, as we had 15 clinics. Except for winter storms delaying travel for a few of our employees, it was a successful weekend reaching coaches from coast to coast.

This week alone, we’ll hit 15 more clinics. Luckily, we have plenty of travel lovers in the office who help make this possible.

A Complete List of 2012 Hudl Champions

With 264 champions across all 50 states, we feel we have the right to continue bragging. Having the greatness divided into four separate posts wasn’t doing it justice, so behold: a complete list of 2012 Hudl Champions.

We couldn’t be prouder of these teams and the way they dominated last season. Here’s to you - coaches and players, parents and fans. Congratulations on an amazing 2012 and good luck in 2013.

Clinic Stops 2013

Clinic season is in full swing and we’re excited to send many of our 70 employees and field reps across the country to meet and chat with all of you. We plan to attend over 150 clinics throughout the calendar year, several of which are taking place in the next couple months.

No matter where you are, be sure to find our booth and ask any questions about Hudl or just snag some free swag.

It will be tough to forget this wrap-up of 2012 State Champions. We have teams from across the country and a variety of divisions and classes.

We are very proud of how this group of teams finished the year on such a high note. The offseason is bittersweet for football players and coaches everywhere, but soon enough Friday night lights will be back in full swing. Until then, keep dominating!

Hudl Champions Round III

This round of champions is full of talent. This time we have included the division or class of the team along with who the champions defeated. We are happy to say this list is the largest one we have had so far this year with close to 130 teams. We encourage you to look at these successful teams’ highlights from the 2012 season by clicking on the school name. Congratulations from the Hudl staff and keep Dominating!

If you don’t see your school on this list we will be sure to get you in the next round.

Hudl State Champions Round II

We wanted to take a break from feature announcements and Top Plays to congratulate the second round of Hudl state champions. Besides cheering on the Nebraska Huskers all season, everyone here in the Hudl office has been supporting and cheering on this very large and successful group of coaches and athletes.

Listed below is the second round of state champions. If you don’t see your team’s name don’t worry we will get you on the next list!  And if you missed the first round of Hudl Champions, check it out here.

The events will get kicked off on Friday and will include a six-game showcase featuring 12 teams. Hudl Helps: Rebuilding Joplin

One year ago today the small community of Joplin, Mo. experienced one of the deadliest tornadoes in this nation’s history. The storm, nearly 1-mile wide, killed 160 people in a matter of minutes.

Head Football Coach, Chris Shields, was new to the program in 2011 and was living about five hours away from Joplin in Wentzville, Mo. when the tornado hit. He turned on the television only to see the house he was moving into in a week was flattened and everything was destroyed. I had the opportunity to catch up with him a few weeks ago to see how the rebuild was coming.
